• Artificial Intelligence Adoption – is everyone buying in?

  • A recent article by Michael Cohen and Crystalyn Stuart-Loayza has questioned whether everyone within organizations are buying into AI adoption at the same pace, or whether there are laggards in this process. They specifically question whether Vice Presidents (VPs) are lagging, and whether this is creating a leadership gap that could slow down overall AI integration within their organizations.

Artificial Intelligence AdoptionOne of the reasons put forward by the authors suggest that the gap in adoption is caused by the belief that VPs experience lower productivity gains from AI compared to their junior and mid-level colleagues, suggesting a disconnect between the C-suite’s vision for AI and its practical implementation by management. While CEOs and boards advocate for AI adoption, VPs often hesitate to fully embrace it.

The article is a really interesting read, and could point to action being required by the C-suite to “level the playing field” in order to ensure that the organization can fully harness the potential of AI.
